‘티처스2’ 섭외에만 3년! ‘공교육의 황제’ 윤혜정, 뉴티처 출격

 11일 방송되는 채널A ‘성적을 부탁해: 티처스2’에 22년 차 국어 교사 윤혜정이 등장한다. 정승제는 “교육계를 떠나 제 인생 통틀어서 존경하는 인물 Top 3 안에 드는 분이다”라며 존경심을 드러냈고, 조정식도 “저는 이분이 나오셔야 완성된다고 생각한다”며 국어 입시계에서 압도적 존재감을 지닌 뉴티처에 대한 기대를 드러냈다. 
 전현무도 “이 프로그램이 생기기 전부터 무려 제작진이 3년을 쫓아다녔다”라며 긴 시간의 설득 끝에 섭외가 성사된 비화를 전했다. 이에 윤혜정은 “제가 껴도 될 자리인가 싶었는데, 학생들을 위해 조금이라도 메시지를 전달할 수 있지 않을까 싶어서 용기를 냈다”며 ‘티처스’ 출연은 오로지 학생들을 위한 결정이었다고 밝혔다.

 그런 가운데 ‘국어 공부법’에 대한 편견들이 쏟아져 나왔다. ‘목동맘’ 장영란은 “목동 엄마들 사이에 ‘국어는 집 팔아도 어렵다’는 말이 있다”라며 국어가 입시의 핵심이라고 전했다. 국어 때문에 5수를 한 ‘입시전략멘토’ 미미미누도 “안 된다”고 고개를 저으며 목동맘들의 의견에 동의했다. 
 전현무는 “저 때도 그랬다. 영어, 수학은 하면 늘지만, 국어는 절대 성적이 안 오른다고 여겼다”라며 오랫동안 이어져 온 편견에 대해 밝혔다. 이에 윤혜정은 “제가 봤을 때 사람들이 너무 가성비가 떨어지는 국어 공부를 하고 있다. 학교에서 성적 좋다는 아이들을 봐도 제대로 공부하는 방법을 모른다”며 안타까워했다. 
 그러자 전현무는 “제대로 하는 방법을 ‘티처스’에서 공개하는 겁니까?”라고 물었고, 윤혜정은 “해보겠습니다”라고 선언해 모두의 환호를 자아냈다. 막연하기만 했던 국어의 제대로 된 공부법을 전할 ‘국어T’ 윤혜정은 앞으로 ‘티처스2’에서 만날 수 있다. 
 한편, 1회 공개 이후 넷플릭스 Top10 안에 꾸준히 오르고 있는 ‘성적을 부탁해: 티처스2’는 11일 저녁 7시 50분에 방송된다.
