 장기이식을 받은 이들에게 초능력이 생겼다. 어디서도 보지 못한 설정과 최강의 팀플레이로 여름 극장가를 책임지러 왔다. '마약 혐의' 유아인으로 인해 3년 넘게 미뤄진 영화 '하이파이브'다. 지난 12일 서울 광진구 건대입구 롯데시네마에서 영화 '하이파이브'(감독 강형철)의 제작보고회가 개최됐다. 이 자리에는 강형철 감독을 비롯해 배우 이재인, 안재홍, 라미란, 김희원, 오정세, 박진영이 참석했다.

 '하이파이브'는 장기이식으로 우연히 각기 다른 초능력을 얻게 된 다섯 명이 그들의 능력을 탐하는 자들과 만나 벌어지는 이야기를 그린 코믹 액션 활극이다. '과속스캔들' '써니' '타짜-신의 손' '스윙키즈' 등을 통해 관객들을 사로잡았던 강형철 감독의 신작이다.

 이날 이재인은 "액션에 대한 욕망이 있어서 감독님이 감사하게도 액션을 선보일 기회를 주셨다"며 "처음 만난 자리에서도 발차기했다. 그래서 영광스럽게도 함께할 수 있었다"고 했다.

 그는 캐릭터에 대해 “심장 이식 후 괴력과 스피드를 얻게 되어서, 이 작품의 액션의 많은 부분을 담당하게 된다. 완서는 어릴 적부터 심장이 안 좋아서 아버지의 보호를 받고 살았는데, 능력을 얻게 된 후로 몰래 친구들을 만나러 다닌다”라고 덧붙였다.

 안재홍은 "늘 꿈꿔왔다, 미란 선배님과의 재회를, 이 순간을 기다렸다"면서 "미란 선배님과 같은 작품, 장면 속에서 호흡 맞추면서 정말 너무 행복했고 신났고 든든했다"고 소감을 밝혔다.

 반면 라미란은 "나는 '응답하라 1988' 끝난 이후에 바로 잊었다"고 너스레를 떨었다. 그는 "아직도 (안재홍이) 어머니라고 부르긴 한다. 배우는 진짜 어떤 작품에서 어떤 모습으로 만날지 몰라서 나는 전혀 모자지간이라는 생각이 안 들고 그냥 동년배 같은 모습이다"라며 "나는 여기서 솔로여서 아직 미혼이라서 그렇게 봐주셨으면 좋겠다"고 덧붙여 웃음을 자아냈다.

 오정세는 별다른 초능력은 없는 완서의 아빠 종민 역으로 이재인과 부녀호흡을 맞췄다. 박진영은 췌장 이식 후 젊어진 사이비 새신교 교주 영춘으로 첫 악역을 선보인다. 김희원은 간을 이식받은 FM 작업반장 약선을 연기한다.

 ‘하이파이브’의 마지막 멤버 유아인은 각막 이식 후 전자기파를 눈으로 인식하는 기동을 맡았다. ‘하이파이브’는 2021년 11월 촬영을 마쳤으나 유아인이 마약 투약 등 혐의로 재판에 넘겨지며 개봉이 미뤄진 바 있다. 이에 강 감독은 “안타까운 일이고 없었으면 좋았을 일”이라며 “당시엔 영화가 완성되지 않고 후반작업에 열중하던 중이었다. ‘큰일이 터졌을 때 유능한 리더는 해결을 먼저 해야 한다’는 말처럼 나는 감독, 책임자로서 후반작업을 해 빛나는 배우들의 작업을 끝까지 완성해야 한다고 생각했다”고 고백했다. 이어 “편집적으로는 거의 건드리지 않았다”고 덧붙였다.
