            제작진에 따르면 이동욱은 헤밍웨이 같은 소설가가 꿈이었지만 생계를 위해 원치 않게 건달이 된 ‘박석철’로 변신한다. 누구보다 우직하게 버텨온 그는 삶을 되돌리기로 결심한 순간 첫사랑 강미영과 운명적 재회를 하며 또 한 번 인생의 거센 소용돌이에 빠진다. 박석철의 첫사랑이자 가수를 꿈꾸는 ‘강미영’은 이성경이 맡는다. 강미영은 차가운 현실에 치이고 무대 공포증이라는 치명적인 약점에도 가수의 꿈을 포기하지 않는 인물. 어릴 적 풋풋한 사랑을 키워오던 박석철과의 재회는 강미영의 인생에 터닝포인트를 가져온다.

            이동욱은 “이성경 배우는 생각이 깊고 아이디어가 풍부하다. 어떤 방향으로 의견을 제시해도 바로 이해하고, 새로운 대안을 이야기해 주기도 해 많은 도움을 받았다”라면서 “촬영 현장에서 늘 유쾌하고 밝은 에너지를 줘서 고마웠다”라고 전했다. 이어 박석철과 강미영의 관계를 “구원이자 살고 싶어지는 이유”라고 설명했다.
