아이유·플레이브 히트 프로듀서 엘캐피탄, K-POP 넘은 글로벌 DJ 도전장···‘워터밤 2025’ 무대 선다!

 음악 프로듀서 엘캐피탄(EL CAPITXN, 본명 장이정)이 일본 클럽 공연을 시작으로 글로벌 DJ 활동에 본격적으로 나선다. 엘캐피탄은 지난 6월 29일 일본 도쿄 신주쿠의 ‘아톰 클럽(ATOM CLUB)’에서 첫 해외 단독 DJ 공연을 성공적으로 마쳤다. K-POP 프로듀서에서 글로벌 DJ로 활동 영역을 확장하는 신호탄이 됐다. 엘캐피탄은 아이유, 플레이브, 싸이, 선미 등 국내 대표 K-POP 아티스트들의 히트곡을 다수 프로듀싱하며 이름을 알려왔다. 플레이브의 ‘여섯 번째 여름’ 작사·작곡에 참여하며 버추얼 아이돌 음악 분야에서도 주목받고 있다.

 엘캐피탄 소속사 벤더스 관계자는 “엘캐피탄은 앞으로 플레이브, 이세돌 등 버추얼 아이돌과 협업해 새로운 형태의 글로벌 디제잉 쇼를 선보일 예정”이라며 “현실과 버추얼 아티스트를 넘나드는 무대를 통해 음악 산업의 새로운 가능성을 제시할 것이다. 프로듀서뿐 아니라 DJ로서의 활동에도 많은 기대 부탁드린다”고 전했다.

 엘캐피탄은 오는 7월 5일 경기 고양시 일산 킨텍스에서 열리는 ‘워터밤 2025 서울’ 무대에도 오른다. 이날 무대에는 카리나, 박재범, 후타, 프로미스나인, 전소미, NCT 텐, 로꼬, 이영지 등 인기 아티스트들이 함께 출연할 예정이다.
