 [TV리포트=한수지 기자] '특종세상'에서 전 아나운서 박용호가 아내와 떨어져 사는 사연이 그려졌다. 
 10일 방송된 MBN '특종세상'에서는 아내와 떨어져 두 집 살림 중인 박용호의 근황이 공개됐다. 
 아나운서 출신 박용호는 KBS 1TV '6시 내 고향'의 초대 MC로, 대통령 상도 두 번이나 받은 인물이다. 지금은 강화도의 한 전원주택으로 귀향한지 15년 차인 베테랑 농사꾼이라고.
 박용호는 "밭 500평을 농작하고 있다. 규모는 작지만 없는 것 없이 다 한다"라면서 "혼자서 농사하는 게 외롭고 쓸쓸하다"라고 밝혔다.
 아내가 있지만 떨어져 산다는 그는 "두 집 살림이라는 게 보통 힘든 게 아니다"라며 "해답이 없다. 언제까지 이렇게 살아야 할지 나도 모르겠다"라고 답답한 마음을 전했다.
 현재 조상 대대로 살아온 처가집을 헐고 직접 집을 지어서 살고 있다고. 집안 곳곳에는 아나운서 시절의 흔적이 가득했다. 
 이른 새벽 박용호는 "흐려도 선크림을 발라야 된다"라며 피부에 신경썼다. 준비를 마친 후 그가 향한 곳은 고구마 밭이었다. 
 그는 넓은 집에서 혼자 지내고 있었다. 박용호는 "아내가 주중 수요일에 한번 오고 주말에 오기로 했는데 이번주에는 안 왔다"라며 의아해 했다. 
 외출에 나선 박용호는 "서울 아들 집에 간다. 서울 강남에 40년 이상 산 우리집이 있다"라고 말했다. 
 그는 요 며칠 소식이 없는 아내를 직접 찾아나선 것. 집에는 아내와 둘째 아들이 있었다. 두 사람은 48년 전 배우자 김혜경 씨와 결혼해 세 아들을 뒀다. 박용호는 "세 아들 다 장가를 안 갔다. 좋은 배필을 만나서 안락한 가정을 이루는 게 부모의 바람인데 하나도 따라주는 애들이 없으니 한숨만 나온다"라고 고민을 전했다. 
 박용호는 아들에게 "좋은 소식이 없냐"라고 물었고, 아들은 "노력은 하는데 쉽지 않다"라고 멋쩍게 웃었다.

 더구나 아내는 오랜만에 온 남편에게 반가워 하는 기색 없이 집안일에 여념이 없었다. 
 부부에게는 집에 있는 둘째 아들이 아픈 손가락이었다. 박용호는 "6시 내고향을 진행하고 있는데 AD가 쪽지를 내밀더라. '둘째 아들 혼수상태'라고 적혀있었다. 그걸 보고 아들이 죽은 거구나 (생각했다) 방송을 마치고 부랴부랴 병원을 가보니 아들은 의식불명이었다"라고 회상했다. 
 당시 고3 수험생이던 아들은 친구와 다투다 머리를 다쳐 혼수상태에 빠졌다. 3개월 후 깨어났지만 오른쪽에 장애가 생겼다. 박용호는 "그때부터 아들이 죽겠다고 하더라. 살 의미가 없다고 하더라. 그걸 말리느라고, '나를 왜 태어나게 했냐?'라고 할 때 가슴이 찢어지는 것 같았다. 당시 부모의 심정은 당해보지 않으면 모른다"라고 울컥하는 모습을 보였다. 
 아내 김혜경 씨 역시 "둘째가 몸이 불편하기 때문에 내가 없으면 아무것도 못 한다. 둘째 아들을 보면 아직도 가슴이 아프다"라고 말했다. 
 김혜경 씨는 "(남편이 가족과 떨어져) 혼자 사시는 건 죄송하다. 여기서도 내가 할일 있고, 하는 일이 너무 많다. 아직은 혼자 잘 견디고, 내가 못 챙겨주면 본인이 스스로 하기도 한다"라고 전했다. 그럼에도 박용호는 아내와 떨어져 지내는 것에 대한 서운함을 드러냈다. 
 한때 국민 아나운서였던 박용호는 정치계에 입문하면서 방송계를 떠났다. 박용호는 "정치가 나에게 맞지 않았다. 실패한 정치인이었다. 정치를 그만두고 어릴 때 태어나고 자란 곳으로 돌아왔다"라고 털어놓았다. 
 그는 2000년 제16대 국회의원 선거에서 새천년민주당 후보로 인천광역시 서구·강화군 을 선거구에 출마, 현역 국회의원인 한나라당 이경재 후보를 누르고 당선됐다. 그러나 공직선거법 위반으로 2002년 국회의원직을 상실했다.
