 가수 선미가 원더걸스 재결합 촬영에 불참한 이유를 전했다. 6일 유튜브 채널 '유빈의 스포뚜라이뚜'에는 '선미야 첫화 때 왜 안 나왔어?'라는 제목의 영상이 게재됐다. 이날 선미는 유빈의 유튜브 첫 콘텐츠인 '원더걸스 재결합'에 불참한 이유를 밝혔다. 유빈은 먼저 "원래 원더걸스 멤버를 모을 생각이 없었는데 어쩌다 보니 같이 하게 됐다"고 설명했다.

 당시 스케줄 때문에 불참하게 된 선미는 "내 자리가 저기여야 했는데 싶었다"면서 "원더걸스가 썸네일에 딱 걸렸는데 너무 예쁘더라. 그룹들은 개개인도 예쁘지만, 다 같이 모여 있을 때 아우라가 다른 것 같다"며 그리움을 내비쳤다. 선미는 "난 순발력이 없다. 원더걸스 때문"이라며 "혜림이는 다를 수 있지만, 우리가 단체 예능에 나간다고 생각하면 아찔하다. 말하는데 필터링이 오래 걸리니까"라고 털어놨다. 유빈은 "'JYP 교육법' 때문인 것 같다. 항상 '3초 후에 대답하라'라고 아티스트 교육'을 하잖냐"며 공감했다. 선미는 "우리는 3초보다 길어서 문제다. 방송사고 날 정도로 버퍼링이 좀 많이 걸린다"라고 밝혀 웃음을 자아냈다.

 선미는 "어릴 때 19년간 예능에서 저희가 버퍼링도 길고, 잘 웃기지 못했다. 정말 심심한 사과의 말씀을 드린다"면서 "'아, 원더걸스 노잼' 하지 마시고 지켜봐 달라"고 당부했다. 선미는 최근 '선미 컴백 트레일러 : 베이스'를 공개, 강렬한 베이스 트랙으로 눈길을 끌었다. 그는 화제가 된 머리카락이 곤두서는 첫 장면에 대해 "JYP도 어떻게 한 거냐고 묻더라. 감독이 해준 건데, 스피커 위에서 귀마개하고 앉았다. 몸이 흔들릴 정도의 저음 진동으로 만들어진 것"이라고 말했다. 이번 앨범을 준비하며 "원더걸스 밴드 연습할 때가 떠올랐다"는 선미는 원더걸스 재합류 시점에 용감하게 베이스를 고른 비하인드를 밝혔다.

 선미는 "JYP가 '이제 다시 원더걸스에 다시 들어가는데, MAMA에서 유빈이는 드럼치고, 예은이 건반치고, 혜림이는 기타 치고, 너는 서서 노래를 부를 거야'라고 하더라. 내가 메인 보컬도 아닌데 혼자 서서 노래를 한다? 말이 안 되는 그림이었다. 그래서 '저도 그냥 악기를 하겠습니다'라고 했다"고 전했다. 원더걸스 활동 공백기가 있는 선미는 "활동을 같이하고 싶었던 곡은 '2Different Tears'와 'Be my baby'다.
