dmcf-pid="7HiwJGKGYR" dmcf-ptype="general">헤럴드경제가 기후테크 기업 오후두시랩에 의뢰해 같은 사용 시간에 따르면 모기 퇴치제 3종(스프레이형·전기액상형·연소형)의 탄소배출량을 비교한 결과, <strong>연소형 모기향이 내뿜는 탄소량이 여타 제품에 비해 최대 60배에 달하는 것으로 나타났다.</strong></p> <p contents-hash="b9b7e85e3a19894f835e2573d6fb5d8fbbd09c7ed93c3be92a4fd479f8f235c0" dmcf-pid="zXnriH9HHM" dmcf-ptype="general">분석은 제품의 평균 지속 시간과 적정사용량을 토대로 계산됐다. 연소형 모기향을 1시간 사용하는 데 따른 탄소배출량은 67.8g으로 집계됐다. 반면, 스프레이형의 경우 1.16g으로 58배가량 차이가 벌어졌다. 전기액상형의 탄소배출량 또한 3.78g으로 연소형의 18분의1 수준에 그쳤다.</p> <figure class="figure_frm origin_fig" 특히 나뭇가루를 태우는 과정에서 탄소 성분이 공기 중에 배출된다. 직접적으로 연기가 발생하며, 탄소배출량이 압도적으로 높게 측정되는 것.</p> <p contents-hash="3c3013529b1f9c6d8fab421f99206334cf8e571419c26d4ca1799f870ccabb30" dmcf-pid="b1gOo5f51P" dmcf-ptype="general">반면 액상전기형 모기향의 경우, 전기열로 약 성분을 휘발시키는 구조. 이에 추가적인 탄소 연소가 발생하지 않는다. 전기 사용에 따른 탄소 배출은 있으나, 사용량이 많지 않은 수준이다. 스프레이형의 경우 일부 가스가 연소해 탄소를 만들지만, 그 양이 미미하다.</p> <figure class="figure_frm 탄소배출량은 적지 않다.</strong> 제품 전 주기에서 전기액상형 모기향은 1700g의 탄소를 배출해, 연소형(406g), 스프레이형(291g) 등에 비해 높은 수치를 기록했다. 하지만 이는 사용 빈도를 고려하지 않은 결과다.</p> <p 습관에 따라 최대 250회까지 사용할 수 있다. 연소형 모기향이 <strong>장기적으로 다른 제품들에 비해 더 큰 탄소배출량을 나타낼 수밖에 없는 셈.</strong></p> <figure class="figure_frm origin_fig" 직접적으로 인체에 유해한 성분이 유입된다는 거다.</strong> 실제 모기향을 연소할 때는 미세먼지와 함께 폼알데하이드와 같은 발암물질, 그리고 각종 화합물이 발생해 공기 중으로 방출된다.</p> <p contents-hash="0e0798a76c56eb32ebe31b3511e69682946923efc452308bff4e7fc54ee70393" dmcf-pid="4o3VFLhLZ2" dmcf-ptype="general">대구가톨릭대 산업보건학과 양원호 교수팀이 모기향 연소실험을 진행한 결과, ‘알레트린’ 성분이 포함된 <strong>모기향 1개에서 담배 2~22개비에 달하는 폼알데하이드가 방출된 것으로 나타났다. 미세먼지의 경우 담배 41~56개비를 태울 때 발생하는 양이 교수는 “일반적인 방보다 규모가 작은 밀폐형 공간에서 최악의 상황을 가정하고 실험한 결과지만 모기향에서 흡연보다 더 많은 유해공기 오염물질이 배출될 수도 있다”며 “다른 방충제를 사용하거나 환기를 동시에 시켜야 한다”고 설명했다.</p> <p contents-hash="a0216e42dfda881dd087033f87f80d889a8185ee5373d6fe02063eb228dba0f8" dmcf-pid="PNU8pavaGb" dmcf-ptype="general">실제 지난 2023년 유럽연합(EU)는 연소형 모기향 대부분에 포함된 ‘알레트린’ 원료에 대해 사용 금지 결정을 내린 바 있다. 연기로 사실”이라며 “가을철 야외 활동 시에는 빛을 통해 모기를 채집하거나, 찌는(훈증) 방식의 대체 제품을 사용하면 가족들과 지구의 건강을 동시에 챙길 수 있을 것”이라고 말했다.</p> <p contents-hash="b81ba0543edfeb6f0bb2efcbab4dae90eb9a8c07db389223c797e3602376e3a2" dmcf-pid="WHiwJGKG57" dmcf-ptype="general">한편 오후두시랩은 기업, 제품, 도시, 개인의 탄소 배출량을 측정하고 관리하는 통합 플랫폼 그린플로(Greenflow)를 운영하고 있다. 이를 이용해 제품 생산·유통 등 경제활동 과정에서 배출되는 탄소량을 측정할 수 있다.</p> <div
