힘든 시간이 있었다는 이정섭은 "내가 종손만 아니었다면 독신이었을 거다. 집에서 스물다섯부터 결혼을 시키려고 하더라. 그래서 첫 번째 결혼을 했다"라며 "신혼여행도 다녀왔는데, 이불도 따로 펴고 잤다"라고 털어놓았다. </p> <p "위가 1/4밖에 없으니까 조금씩 천천히 먹어야 한다"라며 "방송 프로그램에서 검사를 했는데, 일주일 뒤에 위암 말기라고 연락이 왔다. 그때 죽음부터 생각했다"라며 힘겨웠던 당시를 떠올렸다. 다행히 수술은 성공적이었고, 5년이 지나 완치 판정을 받았다고. 이정섭은 "아내는 딸이 외국으로 출장 간대서 손자 봐주러 갔다"라고 설명했다. </p> <figure 들더라"면서 복잡한 심정을 고백했다. 대를 이어 목욕탕을 물려받은 이정섭은 "건물 리모델링하다가 재판이 걸렸다. 전 한 사람한테 일을 맡겼는데, 그 사람은 파트별로 일을 줬다. 난 돈을 다 줬는데, 그 사람이 다른 사람들한테 안 준 거다"라며 "목욕탕도 넘어가고 아버지도 사회 활동 접으셨다. 우리 내외를 부르더니 이거(돈) 갖고 우리 걱정 말고, 너희 식구 네가 관리하라고 그런 식으로 살아왔는데, '고생 좀 해봐야 한다'고 내보낸 거다. 내 딴엔 당시에 배신감을 느꼈다. 애들까지 사글셋방에서 살게 되니까 가족들한테 바보가 됐다. 마흔하나인데"라고 속상해했다. 이정섭은 다행히 식당이 대박 나며 가정을 부양할 수 있었다고 전했다. </p> <p
