YONHAP</em></span><br></div><br><br>Badminton star An Se-young <span>is the</span><span class="font-weight-bold m-font-weight-bold " data-lab-f> </span>first Asian player to complete a career Grand Slam in women's singles, and now there's a medal to mark it.<br><br>The Korea Minting, Security Printing and ID Card Operating Corporation <span>(Komsco)</span><span class="font-weight-bold m-font-weight-bold" data-lab-f> </span>unveiled two premium commemorative medals honoring the achievement at a launch event Wednesday at Yonex Korea’s headquarters in Seocho District, southern Seoul. An attended alongside Komsco President Sung Chang-hoon and Yonex Korea Chair Kim Cheol-ung.<br><br>An completed her career Grand Slam by winning the women’s singles titles at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, the 2023 BWF World Championships, the 2024 Paris Olympics and this year’s Badminton Asia Championships.<br><br>The collection includes a proof-grade gold medal and a silver medal, both certified by Komsco at 99.9 percent purity. The gold medal weighs 15.55 grams (0.55 ounces) and measures 32 millimeters (1.26 inches) across, limited to 500 pieces. The silver medal weighs 31.1 grams and measures 40 millimeters, with 1,500 pieces available.<br><br>The front carries the words “Star is Born,” an image of An roaring in celebration on the court and her handwritten signature.
